In Conversation With Paulette Alden

Please join us on Thursday, July 15 at 5:30pm for an In Conversation event with Paulette Alden about her latest book, The Empty Cell. It tells the story of 4 people whose lives are upended by the lynching of a young Black man named Willie Earl in Greenville, SC in 1947. The characters are fictional, but the horrific event that sets the novel in motion is true. Born and raised in Greenville, Paulette has an insider’s outsider’s view of the story, and she spins the complexities of it with a deft pen.

The conversation will be facilitated by Deb Richardson-Moore, another local author and store favorite. Join us for an honest look at a hard story that is beautifully told.
