Join us for Lunch & Lit on Wednesday, August 4, featuring acclaimed author Susan Meissner and her most recent book, The Nature of Fragile Things.
Set in San Francisco in 1906 after a massive earthquake, The Nature of Fragile Things is the story of a young Irish immigrant, Sophie Whalen, who is a mail-order bride for an aloof, handsome widower. When Sophie answers the door one night, she finds on the stoop a stranger who sets in motion a transforming chain of events. This gripping novel explores the bonds of friendship, the strength of a mother’s love, and the power of female solidarity.
Susan will be on hand to talk, answer questions, and sign books, and we’ll be dining at the hands of the fabulous Chef Shaun Garcia at Soby’s (which is hardly ever open for lunch).
Covid precautions will be followed per CDC guidelines in place at that time.
Tickets are $45 and include a three course lunch and a copy of The Nature of Fragile Things.
