Holiday party

The room fee and tax were paid with the reservation. Charges will be applied when you complete this Catering Form. This form is due at least two weeks prior to the event. Adjustments will be billed or refunded following the event.

Cancellations made in writing (email is fine) at least seven days in advance will receive a 100% refund. If the event date needs to be rescheduled, M.Judson Booksellers will allow one reschedule to an available future date. No refunds will be given for cancellations with less than seven days’ notice.

Your reservation includes access to the Gallery 30 minutes before and after your event for set up and take down. Please do not attempt to occupy the room prior to 30 minutes before your event is to start. We will be busy getting the room and catering ready to make your event perfect. It is super disruptive to our processes when you arrive earlier than scheduled. We appreciate your understanding.

The Gallery must be vacated by all guests no later than the departure time listed on your agreement. This time includes completion of any breakdown/cleanup and load-out. Additional charges of $50 per 15 minutes will be added to any group that does not vacate by the agreed upon time.

The space that is included in The Gallery rental includes the meeting room, corner kitchen, and conference room. There are two bathrooms available for your use that are located on the same floor as the Gallery.

The office (shipping and receiving) located on the fourth floor is not part of The Gallery space and cannot be used by the client(s) or event guests. There is not a designated space to hold items brought in for the event, like boxes or decorations. Those items will need to be stored somewhere in the rented space. (We recommend under the conference table or in the Kitchen.)

All food must be purchased through Camilla Kitchen. There is no outside food allowed. A finalized menu for catered events will need be fixed one month prior to the event. Adjustments to the number of guests will be accommodated up to 7 days before the event. After that 7-day window, no changes can be made. We will have ordered all of the food and beverage by that time.

Alcohol must be purchased through Camilla Kitchen and served in accordance with South Carolina laws. Alcohol may not be served to minors. If alcohol is found to have been brought in by the Client or served to anyone under the age of 21, a $200 fine will be charged to the account and the event will be immediately ended.

Place all trash into trash cans in the event space.
Place used dishes in bus tubs located in the kitchen and conference room space.
Do not use the restroom sinks to dispose of unused food or liquids.
Remove all items that were brought into the venue. This includes but is not limited to: decorations, gifts, personal items, etc. Any items left in the space will be donated to charity.
Clean-up must be completed by the departure time.
No items may be left for future pick up.
Return furniture to its original configuration.
Ensure that all guests have left the building.
Please keep valuables with you at all times. M.Judson Booksellers is not responsible for any lost or stolen items.

Because of the size and nature of the Gallery, it is an adults-only space. The Gallery is not child proof. There is open access to the stairwell from the Gallery space to the rest of the building and to the street. Exemptions to child policy must be approved by M.Judson Booksellers.

Client agrees to keep a reasonable noise level in both the rented space and conveyance to the space. If the event rental is during business hours, the client agrees to close the doors to the hallway when everyone is present to keep from disturbing other businesses. Client agrees to use the elevator for access to the rental space to avoid disturbing non-M.Judson businesses occupying office suites on other floors. Client agrees to only access M.Judson Booksellers and The Gallery at M.Judson Booksellers, and conveyance to those areas.

The Gallery is always a beautiful space, and it will be especially beautiful and well-decorated for the holidays.
If you would like to bring in your own decorations, you are welcome to bring in anything that can be placed on a surface or you may bring in an easel.
Nothing may be affixed to walls, furniture, or HVAC ductwork by any means (that includes tape, friends!). No signage may be put on any floor other than the fourth floor. No signage may be put in the elevator.
No rice, birdseed, confetti, glitter, “sprinkled” decor, or open flame permitted. You’re welcome to bring battery-operated candles.

Public parking is located nearby at metered spaces and in the Poinsett city garage adjacent to the back of the building on Court Street. You may use the rear entrance and the elevator (level one) to access The Gallery (level four).

Absolutely no smoking or vaping is permitted anywhere inside or around the 130 S. Main building
No firearms, fireworks, sparklers, or illegal substances may be used or possessed on or around M.Judson Booksellers or The Gallery at M.Judson Booksellers.

The client will be responsible for any damage caused directly by the client’s group to walls, flooring, rugs, decor, building, etc. The premises will be inspected immediately following the event. If damages are found, pictures will be provided to the client along with an estimate for repair or replacement.

Each party hereby indemnifies and holds harmless the other party, its employees, officers, directors, agents, subsidiaries, and other affiliates, from and against any and all insured claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including attorneys’ fees and expenses) arising out of the other party’s negligent and/or willful acts or omissions in carrying out its obligations under this Agreement, but only to the extent they are caused by the breach of any representation, warranty, covenant, agreement, or obligation under this Agreement.
