The house-made pickles. Oh, and also the Fifteens. And Allie’s vegan sausage rolls. And that new potato chip cookie. 

What author, living or dead, would you like to sit and have a chat with?

One of my greatest joys is sitting and having a chat (and always a laugh) with my favorite author, Ashley Warlick, almost every day.of my life.

(besides books) good food, beautiful lyrics, live theatre, old movies, fitness, any and all things European, personal dance parties, my husband’s goofy self

What is your favorite drink or food item at Camilla Kitchen?

I love our GF dark chocolate cookie, and our homemade chai is amazing! A killer combo.

What author, living or dead, would you like to sit and have a chat with?

C. S. Lewis, please. Or Flannery O’Connor, thank you.

What do you think is your best quality?

I’m a child at heart! That makes me pretty curious and enthusiastic, ready to work hard, but have fun doing it.

What book changed your life?

Watership Down by Richard Adams is the book that changed my life. It was the first time I got lost in a book and felt as if I was there. I felt emotions that concided with the storyline and actually missed the characters when I was done. It gave me a thirst for reading and losing myself in another world.

What are a few of your favorite things?

What are a few of your favorite things? I like reading, of course. I also like doing puzzles, watching movies, and spending time with my family.

What author, living or dead, would you like to sit and have a chat with?

Probably, Jayne Austin.

What do you think is your best quality?

I am very organized. I can’t function any other way.

Madeline Miller (I want to know how she makes Greek mythology so beautifully human.)

Goofy/weird humor in almost every situation (when it’s appropriate, duh)

None that I can think of! I live in a world of thrillers, horror & historical fiction. Not really life changing but great reads!

Tuck Everlasting – it was one of the first books that I really enjoyed reading, and it sparked my interest in both magical realism and coming-of-age stories.

Rainy/snowy days, San Diego, the BRP, swimming, baking with my mom, my cats and dogs

What is your favorite drink or food item at Camilla Kitchen?

The Color Purple and rosemary shortbread!

What author, living or dead, would you like to sit and have a chat with?

Mary Oliver – she sees so much beauty in the world, which can be difficult sometimes. I’d love to hang out with her in nature and maybe some of that would rub off on me.

What do you think is your best quality?

My smile! I’ve been told that it really brightens others’ days. And to quote Buddy the Elf – I just like to smile; smiling’s my favorite. 🙂
