In Conversation with Greenlink Poetry Project

April 29 @ 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm

Greenlink partnered with the City of Greenville’s Poet Laureate Glenis Redmond to unveil the Greenlink Poetry Project in 2023. The Poetry Project featured poems written by local poets inspired by interviews conducted with Greenlink bus riders. This year, Greenlink turned to its bus riders and bus drivers to ask for their original poems around the theme “What I See”. Poems were submitted throughout the month of March and were written as a letter (epistolary poem) to Greenville. The call for poems asked riders and drivers to describe what they see from where they sit – from where they’re sitting in their phase of life, to where they’ve found a seat or place of belonging in their community, to where they’re sitting and riding to on the bus. Come join the team for a live reading of the final selected poems that will be published on Greenlink bus ads and on the Greenlink Poetry Project webpage.
