ABOUT THE BOOK
When her older brother arrives in town unexpectedly, Detective Kate Baxter takes time off from the Fulton Springs Police Department to help deal with his heartbreak. But when a close friend goes missing, she plunges into an investigation headed by rival detectives who do not welcome her assistance. Dodging office politics and a sense of surging panic, Kate must retrace her friend’s own investigation into a shadowy figure. Meanwhile, three boys across town encounter a shadowy figure of their own as an innocent joke draws them into contact with an online predator. As Fulton Springs falls prey to the deceptive side of publishing and social media, relationships and lives hang in the balance.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Paul Michael Garrison resides in Upstate South Carolina, where he writes, edits, and performs. He holds degrees in publishing, theater, and creative writing (MFA). His short fiction has appeared in Windhover and Quantum Fairy Tales. His play There Be Dragons Here was a semifinalist in Centre Stage’s 2023 New Play Festival. His new release, The Lies People Publish, is a sequel to his debut novel, Letters to the Editor.
